Viva Espana!

Hey guys!

Welcome to “Two Syracuse Broads Abroad,” a blog that will chronicle the 90-day adventure of two Syracuse University students as they explore the country of Spain. Those students, pictured above, are us–Maya (left) and Maddy (right). My name is Maddy. I’m a newspaper/online journalism and Spanish double major. I love all things food, fashion, friends and above all–writing. I plan to share lots of cool photos and write really descriptive posts about whatever I ate or saw that day. I’m so, SO excited for Spain. This is the opportunity of a lifetime for both of us, and we can’t wait to share it with whoever wants to read on.

P.S. I’m sure Maya will take over shortly to share a little bit about herself, too!

EDIT: Hello, Maya here (left, above, in case you’ve somehow already forgotten)! I’m a magazine journalism/women’s and gender studies double major and Spanish minor and Maddy and I are going to Spain together through a wonderful study abroad program hosted by our school, Syracuse University. Maddy and I are friends through dumb luck–we met our senior year of high school at an accepted students day reception at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at SU (where we’re both doubly enrolled), and we’ve been friends ever since. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little terrified to leave behind a bunch of people I love (and clothes, and a comfortable queen-sized bed, and my cat) to go to Madrid in a couple weeks, but I’m really, really excited too. Expect heavy documentation of art, architecture, culture, food, drinks, music, and people from August 22nd until December 12th.
